Barcelona have secured an agreement with Hristo Stoichkov's academy.

Almost 200 junior players are currently training at FC Hristo Stoichkov and Barca will have first refusal on all graduates after striking a deal with the Bulgaria national team coach this week.

"It's a sentimental relationship between Barcelona and Hristo," said Barca president Joan Laporta yesterday. "He's a man of courage and persistence who is connected to our club.

"This project, which is run by great professionals, is destined to be very successful."
