14 YEAR OLD DEBUTS IN CHILEAN FIRST DIVISION

1
Fourteen-year-old Nicolas Millan became the youngest player to appear in the Chilean soccer league when Colo Colo lost to Santiago Wanderers 1-0 on Sunday.

Millan, 14 years and 9 months, went on with 14 minutes to go in Valparaiso for Chile's most popular club. He made two good passes, and sent a shot wide of the goal.

"I was not nervous and I am happy, but this is just the first step in my career," Millan told the Santiago daily La Teercera. "I know my life is not going to change and that I have to continue to work hard to reach my goals."

The previous youngest Chilean pro was Rodolfo Moya, who made his debut when at 15 years, 4 months. Moya, 31, is still active, playing for the local La Serena first-division club.
