ACADEMY OVERVIEW: RANGERS

1
Former Rangers boss Dick Advocaat urged the club to invest in a training complex and youth academy when he arrived in
Scotland in 1998.

Murray Park is divided into three sections, an administration wing, a professional wing and a youth wing.

Each has its own reception area, changing rooms, and conference rooms.

The complex also includes a £50,000 editing suite, which records footage from training sessions.

It's thought Murray Park costs around £1.3m a year to run and maintain.

Rangers received £650,000 from sportscotland towards the cost of the complex on the condition that some of the facilities were made available for community coaching.

Officials from the Scottish Football Association are said to be in talks over plans to create a Murray Park-style centre for Scotland's national team in Bothwell.

OLD Firm rivals Rangers moved their training base to the purpose-built Murray Park five years ago.

The £14million academy and training centre in Auchenhowie, Milngavie, covers 38 acres and has
six full-size pitches, two half-size pitches, a practice area, and a synthetic indoor pitch.
